Water damage & mold timeline

• 0 to 24 hours: Water wicks into drywall, flooring, and insulation. Remove water and start drying.
• 24 to 48 hours: Mold can start growing on wet materials.
• Days 3 to 7: Musty odor and visible growth may appear. Porous materials that were soaked often need removal.

Floodwater can be contaminated. Wear gloves, boots, and an N95 when cleaning.
